We are delighted to announce a new partnership with Garth Hill College to offer a basketball academy as part of their Sixth Form offer from September 2024.

 

This is an opportunity for young players to benefit from an elite basketball programme alongside their post-16 academic studies.

 

To join the academy, players will already demonstrate a high skill level and on-going commitment to the sport, as well as to their academic studies.

 

The programme involves:

• Extensive and varied basketball related activity including before school, lunchtime and after school sessions (for example training sessions, strength and conditioning work, video analysis and performance evaluation)

• Supervised twilight academic study (mandatory)

• Participation in CBL league, National League games and Dynamik Schools League

• Officiating courses – opportunity to qualify as a referee, table official and coach

• Access to a team of professional basketball coaches, working alongside our Sixth Form team to ensure students develop well and succeed in the sport and in the classroom.

A dedicated Open Day will take place on Thursday 07 March 2024 @ 6-8pm, Open for all players going into Year 12,13,14 next year.
